Lord of truth, refuge and strength. Your Word is sure, true and altogether righteous. I ask that You would cause me to thirst anew for Your Word each day. Teach me, Lord, the way of Your decrees, that I may follow them to the end. Give me understanding so I may treasure Your Law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of Your commandments, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward Your statutes and not toward selfish gain or a foolish squandering that which You have given me. Turn my eyes away from worthless things and preserve my life according to Your Word. Fulfill Your promise to Your servant so You may be feared and praised. May Your Word dwell with me so my lips might boldly declare Your truth, love and mercy. This I ask in the Name of Jesus. Amen
GOD WITH US– not in heaven, not out of touch or out of reach, not a phantom, not a shadow, not a legend or a myth; God with us in grace, in truth, in mercy; God with us in human flesh, touchable, seeable, knowable.
LOVE breathing, love giving, love caring, love dying. Walking where we walk, crying our tears, knowing our pain, feeling our grief, bearing our sorrows.
GOD WITH US—in the manger, in the temple, on the road, by the well, in the boat, upon the hillside, in the home, at the table, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, comforting those who mourn, speaking to the multitude and seeking out the individual; with arms extended, with words that beckon, with a voice that calls, ‘Come unto Me.”
GOD WITH US—to believe in, to follow, to proclaim, to seek, to worship, to love, to cherish forever!
Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). In that same discourse, he prayed that his disciples would be unified “so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:20–21). Jesus says the love we have for one another in the church is evidence that we are truly converted. And when we are unified in the church, we show the world that Jesus is the Son of God. Love confirms our discipleship, and unity confirms Christ’s deity. What a powerful witness!
