At MOPS we believe that better mums make a better world. We also believe that being a mum is probably the most important job there is - you are raising a human being! Our focus of both groups is to provide a consistent space of support, encouragement, insight and love for mothers of all walks of life. Let's join in this journey together and help each other to be the best mums we can be!

Alternating each Monday of school term, MOPS & MUMSnext meets at Marion Church of Christ**

MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers)

9.30am-11.30am (fortnightly – even weeks)

MOPS is for uniquely tailored for Mums with young children (pregnancy-6 years). Mums are welcome to come just as they are to make friends, enjoy time out from kids, have fun, and gain the confidence to reach their full potential as Mums. Children are lovingly cared for in the MOPSkids program by accredited volunteer carers. This allows Mums to relax and enjoy a morning of connecting together over tea & coffee, morning tea, group discussions, craft and wonderful support from our Mentor Mums.

MOPS Fees

$5 per session/$25 per term (EFTPOS available) - first session is free

MUMSnext

9am-11am (fortnightly – odd weeks)

MUMSnext is the continuation of MOPS for Mums who no longer have pre-school aged children or predominantly have school-aged children. As our children grow it doesn’t get easier, but it does change. MUMSnext recognises this change and offers continued support, encouragement and connection for Mums through all stages of motherhood.

Discussions at MUMSnext are tailored to children of older ages and Mums with both school-aged children and pre-schoolers are also welcome to attend. Although there is no MOPSkids program, younger children can play under the supervision of their parent while the MUMSnext meeting happens in the same room. MUMSnext is a casual BYO arrangement for Coffee & Tea. Drinks can also be purchased from Side-Gate Cafe on site.

MUMSnext Fees

$15 per term (EFTPOS available) **Free for MOPS mums (when fully paid for MOPS term) - first session is free

Side Gate Cafe

SIDE GATE CAFE is a warm and inviting cafe serving great food and FAIR TRADE coffee all at truly affordable prices.

Open Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30am to 1:30pm

Take the time to CONNECT with people in your neighbourhood over a cup of coffee.

Side Gate Cafe also offers Suspended Coffees - by restoring faith, highlighting the simple acts of kindness happening all around us, and encouraging others to do the same.

Kindness can come in many forms, including the purchase of a suspended coffee, which is the very idea that inspired this movement. A suspended coffee is the advance purchase of a cup of coffee for someone who needs it, no matter why. But it really is about so much more than the coffee. It can provide physical comfort, conversation, a smile or even a laugh, and a sense of belonging. A suspended coffee can change lives, sometimes even save them.

Interested in volunteering? You can start by completing the online form, or contacting the Church Office via email on admin@marioncc.org.au or phone on 8277 7388.
