Why Safe Water?

When a community receives access to safe water, it literally changes lives and transforms the community. 1 in 10 people worldwide don't have clean water close to home. This has huge negative impacts. A lot of illnesses are caused by unsafe water, and poor sanitation and hygiene. People, mainly women and children, are forced to walk, sometimes up to 10-15km to collect water, that is sometimes still unsafe. Because of this, kids miss millions of school days, and time and energy is spent that could be invested back in peoples livelihoods, families and communities

Let's make a difference together

You can make an impact and join a whole community making a difference right now! It's simple – commit to drinking only water, all September. Then raise money to give safe water to someone in need. Every person deserves safe water – let's do something about it!

Marion Church of Christ is supporting Samaritan's Purse and Operation Christmas Child again this October.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organisation. Our mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are also invited back to participate in The Greatest Journey – an evangelism and discipleship program. We ship these simple gifts from Australia and New Zealand to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease. These gifts are given without condition and without regard to the race, creed, gender, religion, or ethnicity of the beneficiaries.

We are a

- Resource Pick Up Point for individuals, churches, schools or other participating groups can pick up resources such as pre-printed shoe boxes and brochures ready for packing.

- Drop-Off Point for individuals, churches, schools or other participating groups to drop-off filled shoeboxes

Remember to shop ethically by choosing goods that have been manufactured without exploitation.

Thank you for the many ways I can serve and give to others. Thank you for the rich tapestry of colors throughout creation, for the beauty that is all around me, and for the skies and the ever-changing environment that surrounds me. My heart is so grateful for all that You have bestowed me within my life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is in Your name that I sing my praises!

GENTS Camp SA 2020

Gents stands for Grade Eight, Nine, Ten Super Camp. This year, brave Grade 7's are invited! Camp is a place where boys can be boys in the great outdoors in a fun, safe and fully supervised way.

On camp, boys are challenged and inspired about what it means to be a great man, adopting values such as integrity, honesty and respect. It's a place where boys are inspired to tend their soul and nurture a robust and resilient spirtuality.

Gents camp helps boys to understand how power they are becoming and how to use it for a great good in the wortld. It's a place where boys are surrounded by the influence of positive male role models. It's a place where boys become men!

Dates: Oct 3rd, 9:30am- Oct 6th, 2pm 2020 (Leaders arrive 1pm, Oct 2nd)

Cost: $260 (by Aug 9th), $280 (by Sept 13th), $300 (by Sept 28th)

GENTS Camp SA 2020 is all systems go at this stage. However, due to uncertainty around Covid 19, registration only requires a refundable deposit of $50 presently. The remainder of the full camp fee will be required a month before camp begins. If camp is cancelled due to Covid 19, you will receive a full refund.
