The first Sunday in February is Vision Sunday - a special date in our yearly calendar - where we reflect on the spiritual direction that the Lord is guiding us
Back in 2015 when I was appointed senior pastor, the Lord gave me a spiritual focus for us as a Church covering a seven-year period
2015- Connection
2016- Faith
2017- Hope
2018- Love
2019- Growth
2020-Fruitfulness
And 2021 marks the final piece in this journey, our year of Restoration
The “seventh year” has spiritual significance in the Old Testament
Where in Leviticus 25, God directs Israel, that the land must rest, no planting at all
An opportunity to restore vital nutrients to the soil, that had been drained by constant use
And Jesus also, spoke about us as believers finding rest
In Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) he says
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
This is our memory verse for 2021.
