It was a bustling noise in the cafe as the Friendship Club met for the first time since February.
There was lots of conversation, laughter, catching up, and friendly faces at Side Gate Cafe.
Thanks so much to Julia and her team of volunteers at SGC.
Fantastic lunches, coffees, scrumptious cakes and scones.
After the 10am service on the 18th of October, there was a special announcement on the big screens of a pre-recorded message from Karen, Chair of the Board of MOPS Australia (Mothers of Preschoolers).

CareWorks has been made aware that a number of refugees who are in community detention are to be transferred into the community on “Final Departure Bridging Visas”. Please refer to the attached document from the Refugee Council of Australia.
In South Australia there will be 20 families (74 people) released with three weeks’ notice. The visa allows them to work but they get no assistance from the government other than access to Medicare. Clearly this will be a traumatic and stressful time for these people. Support for housing, food and employment opportunities will be of paramount importance.
So, what can we as individuals and Churches do?
CareWorks will use its networks with partner agencies to ensure that your support is directed to the support services.
· You can make a financial donation, by sending it to CareWorks and we will forward it on your behalf to the Welcome Centre.
· Donations of non-perishable foods can be delivered to CareWorks Torrensville office, and it will be delivered to Australian Refugees Association.
· If you have a room, a granny flat or a house that you can release as low-cost accommodation, we will put you in touch with one of the accommodation providers.
Friendship Club would like to invite you down to Side Gate Cafe for a catchup - buy a coffee, have lunch, stay and have a chat.

Then the peace of God, which is beyond our utmost understanding, will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7, NEB
O Lord God, grant us your Spirit, that we may comprehend your peace. As we pray, help us to recognize what must come from you alone, for you are mighty and holy and your will is peace on earth.
Marion Church of Christ Music Team is putting together it's first CD of worship songs that were recorded through the COVID lockdown.
We are so thankful to God for opening doors, for guiding us through this time of uncertainty - to praise Him loudly in worship online and now in your homes, cars with family and friends. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this process.
We would love you to pre-order CDs ($20 per CD) for your family and friends to give as Christmas presents - what a wonderful way to spread the good news of the Gospel.
