Care Works AGM 2024

Dear Friends,

Re: CareWorks’ AGM and Board Nominations

The Annual General Meeting of CareWorks Incorporated is scheduled to be held on Thursday 14 November 2024 at 7.00pm at the Brooklyn Park Church of Christ.

We would very much appreciate it if your Board would prayerfully consider any suitably skilled and gifted candidates to serve on the CareWorks’ Board.

Candidates will have a commitment to the mission and ministry of CareWorks, strong skills and experience in governance and ideally have a particular strength in Accountancy/Finance, Project Management, Law or Fund Raising.

There may be those amongst your congregation who have specific competencies relevant to the governance of CareWorks, whom you may consider approaching to nominate.

CareWorks’ key roles are to facilitate our local churches’ mission and provide services to people who are experiencing disadvantage.

Thank you, in advance, for your consideration of this important matter of nominations to the CareWorks’ Board. We value the support you continue to give in the vital mission of serving Jesus, especially amongst those who are disadvantaged and on the margins.

Yours faithfully,

Geoff Payne,

CEO - CareWorks Inc

Element Youth Friday 20 September

I hope you are all and are having a good week so far.

The Youth had a great Friday night with BBQ and Bonfire, at Amelia's parent's property. A big thank you to Craig and Ruth for welcoming us again to their property and allowing the youth to have a bonfire and play.

This week, we are excited for Nerf Night and another BBQ at Element Youth from 6-8 pm (starting earlier).

They are most welcome to bring their Nerf Gun and bullets (we have a limited spare Nerf at church that they can use on the night if they don't have one).

We are extending an invitation to our Marion Life Youth friends as 'optional' to come and join us for a BBQ or Nerf or both.

Starting time:

BBQ starts at 6 pm

Finish at 8 pm

I hope your teen/s can make it for this Friday.

Kind regards,

Stephen

Youth/Young Adults Pastor

Playgrounds, programs and events City of Marion

The warmer weather has finally arrived at the City of Marion, and we're encouraging you to get out and about this spring to enjoy all of the events, programs and activities happening across our city.

There's a heap of school holiday entertainment available at a number of our facilities across the City of Marion for the whole family to enjoy.

From nature-based adventures and crafty fun to sporting sessions and stimulating workshops - there's sure to be something happening near you to keep kids, big and small, entertained.

Community centre activities

Get little brains and little hands busy with a selection of fun and crafty workshops. Kids will love the ample opportunities to get colourful and creative with our range of exciting activities. There is something available for children of all ages, who will enjoy hands-on creativity, learning, imagination and independent skills while they indulge in their own crafty abilities.

Nature lovers

For our young green-thumbs and nature-lovers, we have plenty of nature based activities with an environmental spin. These activities will connect kids with our local reserves and wetlands, filled with ways to explore, observe and learn about our magnificent wildlife. With opportunities for families to attend, these activities will celebrate the beauty of nature and teach little ones about the natural world around them.

Entertain me

If your kids love to be entertained, then sit back and enjoy the show with these fun performances created especially for children. If your child loves musicals, movies or watching stories come alive, these theatrical performances will have them hooked and on the edge of their seat.
